1957 Chevy Nomad Wagon For Sale

The lowest production numbers of all of the 55-57 Chevy passenger
car models (except Corvette) !!
And a true automotive icon

The paint color is a custom blend of red and raspberry and the flames were
done with a multi-tone ghost effect
which really catches your eye when the sun hits it.
The chrome is all very clean and bright.
Great California vanity plate.

Very nice straight body panels and a good level of fit and finish.

The dark tinted rear glass gives it an air of mystery while the great color
and bright trimwork
just scream cool at you.

The 57 Nomad is one of those "Icon" cars that will always be
highly regarded in the car scene.
The 57 Chevy of course being the quintessential "50's" car and
then the Nomad a unique model in it's own right.

And this one is a cherry one indeed...something you can be proud of.

Ok...you have seen the overall stuff and the car looks pretty nice eh?
Well you havent seen the half of it. "The Devil is in the Details"
they say, so lets dive on in
and make sure there is no eveil spirits hiding deep within this flamed
beauty...

Excllent chrome, the gold grille is like new, the enblems are as well,
all in very very nice condition.

Here's a good shot of the hood spear that shows how the sun catches the
pearl in the paint on the flames.
Nice pinstripe job along the edge as well.

Check out the reflection along the sides and the fit of the door and trim...very
nice work.

From the backside as well.

Again more good chrome and all the proper Nomad trim intact.

The personalized plate can be negotiated in with the deal if the car remains
in California.

I like this photo... there is no doubt what we are looking at when you
view this image.

The classic Nomad attribute of the roof grooves.

Sight down the passenger side and it's more glassy smooth panels and proper
clean trim.

Weld "Draglite" wheels are fully polished with chromed lugs and
caps.
Wrapped in 245-60-15 Remington rubber out back (excellent tread)

And 205-60-15 rubber up front.
Nice clean looking wheels, but if I dare say anything negative, they are
a bit dated.
Bolt on one of the modern big wheel combinations out there and the car
would take on a completely different personality.
Obviously this is my opinion... and opinions are like... (well you know
the rest).

The car appears to be an extremely solid example and a good view of that
is to lok at the rockers.
First the trim is excellent but below that the seam along the bottom is
very clean as are the fender wells, etc.
I'll show more of the underbelly shortly...lets keep going with the shiny
stuff.

Good even gaps on the doors and panels.

The reflection is so nice it picked up all sorts of stuff in the photos...
that white stuff within the flames
is on the ground next to the car...not a scratch or scrape.

All like new.

OK, you have seen the outside in detail...now to the good stuff.
What's under the hood of this baby??

The classic small block Chevy of course!
This 327 has been bored.030 over and features double hump High Performance
heads
Edelbrock aluminum intake, Carter AFB four barrel carb, Mallory igninition,
Rams horn exhaust
manifolds (jet hot coated), a full modern "Vintage Air" A/C stystem
and a whole wheelbarrow load
of chrome and billet aluminum stuff...it is pretty (and it runs great too).

Mattson aluminum radiator is fully polished and has a thermo controlled
electric fan.

Nice clean deatailing in the deep corners like this area behind the grille

No panel distortment, nice clean hardware and wiring.
A lot of love went into the construction of the car.

Another shot of that pretty radiator.

Hydro boost power brakes, 605 power steering,
Braided stainless lines and everything chrome or polished.
Check out the chromed hood springs and hardware in this shot too.

Billet dipstick, nice spark plug wire rails...a ton of cool touches.

Nice looking jewelry under the hood.

Detail shot of the Vintage Air compressor.

A shot down at the polished water pump and all the billet aluminum pullies
and chrome goodies.
Nice hex head hardware used in many places.

Under side of the hood is nicely detailed.

Chromed hood latch bits...clean stuff.

2" dropped front spindles and front disc brakes.
There is a bhit of road grime underneath from use, but this could clean
up if you
felt the urge to treat it as a show car.

Just dusty under here...frame was powder coated.

Here's a good shot of the front fender wells...very smooth with good undercoating.

All very solid and proper.
Rear end is a Ford 8" unit with 3.53:1 gearing, dropped 2".

Now to the interior... open up and say "ahhh"

Everything inside is just as nicely finished as the rest of the car.

Heres another fine detail shot showing the tailgate latches...very clean.

Great dash.

Lecarra steering wheel.
Tilt column.

Odometer reads 15,574 miles at the time of these photos.

Nice choice of radios...modern but no dash mods to do it.

Vintage air system is nicely installed and the A/C blows nice and cold.

Side vents are cleanly mouted.

Nice custom floor mats.

Custom embroidery over the tunnel.

Cadillac power seat with beautiful upholstery.

Rear seat of course done to match.

Headliner features the classic Nomad chrome strips.

In excellent shape.

Speakers are cleanly hidden behind the panels with holes to alloy the sounds
to come out.

More nice details.

This was no quickie restoration by any means.

Door panels up front are very cleanly done. Power windows, custom armrest,
etc.

Nice embossed Bow Tie emblem.

Vent wings are power too!!

Looking as sweet as candy!
Picture yourself here gripping that wheel and cruising the local boulevard
in style!

A few more interior details.

Need I say more?

In closing this is a very nice car.
Beautifully done, tasteful upgrades and a nice sense of style.
Excellent runner and driver, ready for show or go.
The 57 Nomad is a very desireable bit of Detroit steel and the market will
always be strong for a good one.
Vehicle is located in Aptos California.
Priced realistically at
$72,000
