1960 Chrysler 300F For Sale

This is it...the real deal Chrysler letter car..the 1960 300F.
This is a rare bird indeed and with a lifetime documented history here in Southern California
and a top level restoration by a known and respected expert on these cars...I think this one will be hard to beat.

The car is in wonderful condition and was restored extensively in 1995.
It has been driven sparingly and always garaged and remains in very fresh condition.

The car has had three owners sice new. It was sold new in the San Fernando Valley and remained with its
first owner for two short years. It was with it's second owner, also a Southern California resident up until 1986 when the
current owner bought it. It has been a prized part of his collection ever since.

The car is restored very accurately with only a couple of slight diversions from original equipment
the biggest being the addition of disc front brakes on the car.
Tis was a bolt on affair , no modifications done that couldnt be put back if ever desired,
but the increased safety factor I think far overrides the authenticity question.

The car remains very dry underneath, it was a super solid example to start with and it remains so today.

The trim tags and all documentation is with the car.
The color is the correct and original  Alaskan white and the interior is as original in tan leather.
It has the factory air conditioner, the remote mirror, Golden Tone radio with rear speaker
and the Solex tinted glass.

The paint quality is excellent and the car is very well sorted out.

As many of the original details that could be kept were kept such as the original steering wheel.
There are slight age cracks but it remains very nice.

Some slight crazing to the transparent parts...but still quite sharp.

The car has all the proper 300 emblems and details.

Odometer reads 10083 miles at the time of these photos.

The black California plates have been on the car since issued and the title is clean and clear and registration up to date.

The design of the car is really fantastic.
This era of Chrysler is endlessly fascinating...back when the sky was the limit and the wilder the car...the better.

Very futuristic shapes and features everywhere you look.

The stylized rear spare hump on the trunk lid, those great fins...this is a fantastic car.

The great design continues in the interior with the quad bucket seats and wide open glass expanses.

Every detail is something special...no normal mirror would do...it had to look fantastic.

There is no wonder why these cars are so highly prized.
And the production was very limited with only 964 300 hardtops produced in 1960.
There are thought to be less than 300 of them remaining today, and I think this must be one of the nicest.

Ready for take off!

The double curved windshield is another cool item on these cars...notice how it bubbles out at the top.

Very clean in the door jams and deep corners.

The headliner with its chrome bows is wonderful.

The dashboard is one of the automotive world's most  fantastical designs.

Accessory trash pocket is a period correct item.

Seats are excellent.

Nice level of detail.

Door panels are very clean and have the proper lettering and details.

Body seals and all rubber are very good.

The rear seats are in great condition as well.

The proper 300 wheel covers are here and the tires are 9.00-14 bias ply as originally equipped.

Rockers and bottom side look very solid.

No rust or repairs to be seen underneath.

Original decal in the back window.

I did spy a couple of very small paint blisters (pencil eraser size) on the passenger side rocker panel
this is really one of the only notable flaws I saw during inspection.

Underneath the engine and suspension all is clean and dry.

Bodywork is wonderfully straight and smooth.

Chrome is excellent.

Tires excellent as well.

Beautiful

The car is a part of a nice collection for quite some time now.
The time has come to thin the herd a bit and this is the first one to emerge onto the market.
It has not been offered for sale before. Its a long time owner vehicle, not something bounced from trader to trader.

So cool.

I like the Daytona raceway plate frame too...

All trim and chrome is in great shape.

The jack instruction slip is still here...

Trunk is well trimmed and looks proper.

Matching spare.

Lots of room in here for your golf clubs!

The rear deck looks wonderful and the speaker mounted in the center is correct and a part of the radio package.

The carpet is in excellent shape as well.

And the car has the swivel seat!

This is a great thing and a wonderful conversation starter at the shows.

ID tag

I love how the center console runs through the entire interior!

Dash is very nice.

One small split just above the shift buttons.

Tachometer

The knobs and buttons and all the controls are so wild!

Golden Tone radio.

150 mph speedometer was a 300 only thing.

The instrument binnacle is just so over the top wild.
With early fiber optic lighting and amazing shape...this is one of those crowd stopping details.

Original floor plates look pretty nice!

The steering wheel itself is a wild thing to behold.

Push button automatic transmission.

Straight off the Sputnik design board!

Many of the chrome parts are still original finish and in excellent shape.

Hood louvers are another model specific detail.

A bit of a flaw to the grille emblem

One good little chip in the windshield.

I keep coming back to these mirrors...just love the shape.

Under the hood it is another jaw dropper...the long ram wedge V8!
Dual carbs and those huge intake runners...it is excess in all the right places.

Nice level of detailing in all the corners and latches.

Very well restored example.

Washer bottle is disconnected.

The generator was swapped for a smaller alternator...this is the only other upgrade that  I found.
And again, like the brakes, it is a bolt on thing and a simple swap if you were going for the judged events.

The car runs and drives excellent by the way!

Certainly ready for the shows.

In closing we have here a serious collectors piece.
Rare in any condition, but extremely hard to find one as nice as this
and to add on the fully known history here in Southern California...it is even sweeter.
